Level 4 Diploma Completed

After 9 months of hard work and a full day of assessments, 3 weeks ago I completed the Level 4 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy. The level 4 currently only exists for funerals and I am the 9th Celebrant to compleet this qualification.

It is not a requirement to hold any qualification to act as a Celebrant though it is advisable.

Training courses, depending on the one chosen, offer certification and/or Diploma level.

So why have I taken on the cost, hard work and time to obtain this advanced qualification?

There are now too many Celebrants. In the last few years more and more people reaching retirement or redundancy are seeing this as a suitable career or part-time income. Also more and more training courses are starting up promising a fruitful career. This is not the true picture of the industry.

A Celebrant must firstly care about their work and the industry. Although it is a job it should not be primarily about the income. Being the best Celebrant you can possibly be should be paramount, this will enable the Celebrant to give the best care, attention and service to both the family and those he/she is working with.

With over 5 years of experience choosing to do this advanced diploma shows my committment, determination and dedication to continue to be the best Celebrant I can be. There is also the self-satisfaction that I have achieved this diploma.

Continued learning is important, self achievement is good, doing what I do for families is rewarding.
